  • How to make

For the filling:

3 soft pears
250g blackberries
Zest of 1 orange
3 tbsp honey

For the cobbler:

225g self raising flour
2 tsp baking powder
75g chilled butter
120g honey
1 medium egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 tbsp whole milk

Step 1

Peel and chop the pears

Step 2

Preheat oven to 180°C / gas mark 4. Put the chopped pear and blackberries in an oven proof dish (28cm round). Drizzle the honey over fruit and sprinkle with orange zest

Step 3

Sift the flour and baking powder into a bowl or a food processor, add the butter and work together until the mixture looks like fine breadcrumbs. Add the honey, egg, vanilla extract and milk and mix into a smooth, soft sticky dough (add milk if required)

Step 4

Drop spoonfulls of the mixture over the fruit, leaving a little space between each one

Step 5

Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden and bubbling. It's done when a skewer, pushed into the middle of the cobbler topping, comes away clean
