  • How to make

½  onion 
2 leeks 
2 medium sized potatoes 
100g cheese (cheddar works well but you could use any hard cheese you like) 
A splash of olive oil 
Approx. 150ml milk

Step 1

Pre-heat your oven to 200°C / 180°C fan / gas mark 6. Finely chop the onion and leek, peel then slice the potatoes into thin slices, and grate the cheese

Step 2

Sauté the onion and leek in a little olive oil over a low heat until soft

Step 3

Using a baking dish (approx. 20cm x 10cm) arrange in several layers starting with potato, then cheese, then the sautéed leek mixture, finishing with a layer of cheese on top. Carefully pour the milk in-between the potato so it fills the dish, and press the layers down into the milk

Step 4

Bake for approx. 45 minutes until the cheese is golden and the potato is soft when tested with a knife. Allow to cool before serving.You can mash or puree for younger babies.
