Friday, November 2, 2007 Sleepless nights already for Kelly...

I have started to wake up a few times in the night which has lead to feeling a bit tired in the day time. Baby Perryman must have started to get me into night training already. I did not realize until the other day that I was not supposed to be sleeping on my back, now that the baby is bigger but I just can’t seem to get comfy on my sides. I have tried putting an extra pillow behind my head and one at my side to support my bump but it still does not quite do the trick. Has anyone got any tips? I just keep wondering what will it be like in a few weeks when my bump gets even bigger? My neighbour said that in the end she had to sleep upright propped with lots of pillows as she was just too big to do anything else.

I am not suffering from heartburn much now as I have avoided certain foods and drinks that aggravated it – fizzy drinks, citrus juices, rich foods, Weetabix (guess they must have swelled up in my stomach) and I am snacking and eating very small meals and not eating too late at night. Peppermint tea also seems to do the trick.

It was my brother-in-law’s birthday at the weekend and I managed to stay out until midnight at their dinner party. I was most impressed but did pay for it a bit the next day so it ended up being a lazy one.

Only eight weeks left at work now and there is just so much that I need to do before I leave. Our busiest time of the year is January and I will be off on maternity but I have been training a new member of staff so hopefully all should go ok. I think I will do a couple of Keeping In Touch days to help out in March with our year end audit but we shall see how that goes - I know our lives and priorities will change forever once baby Perryman is born and I may not be able to.
