Why Organic for Babies

Feeding your baby with organic food is a good way to ensure that their diet is nutritious and wholesome. This is because organic babyfood contains less fillers, less added sugar and no artificial flavourings. In addition the ingredients are organically grown which means your baby will be protected from exposure to pesticides. From conception until one year of age, children are at their most vulnerable and pesticides have been found to bind fat, which once absorbed may stay in the body for a lifetime.
As an extra benefit, a breastfeeding mother should try and eat an organic diet. This is because pesticides can be transferred from mother to baby through breast milk. Eating an organic diet whilst breastfeeding is the best thing you can do to ensure a healthy babies diet.

Baby nutrition is so essential. One of the single, most important things you can do is ensure organic food plays a major part in your baby's diet during the early stages of life. During this critical stage of development, cells are multiplying quickly but the body has a limited diet to draw upon. Immature organs and bodily systems respond differently to food – a small child’s digestive system is more efficient than that of an adult at absorbing foods, enabling nutrients to be used more quickly but making children more vulnerable to toxins. It is for this reason that baby food is covered by special legislation. Preservatives, colourings and added salt are forbidden because babies cannot process them with their under developed digestive systems.
